I'm back in my hometown; Athens, OH. It's a little strange going from Southeast Asia to Southeastern Ohio.
Reverse culture shock has kicked in.
I check out the high prices at stores and feel the urge to haggle. My brain wiring malfunctions when deciding where to put toilet paper. Toilet...or waste basket???? Guilt subconsciously washes over me when I don't take my shoes off entering offices, houses and restaurants. I have to retrain myself to use words again instead of relying solely on gestures. Oh and yeah...I feel like a freakshow when I accidentally bow hello, goodbye or thank you.
No one stares, no one points and no one gives a shit that I have blue eyes.
AND I never hear "NOBODY". Now that--- is some reverse culture shock (and a double negative) that I can fully embrace.
