After swearing that I would never hike in Korea again, I ventured to Bukhansan yesterday. Bukhansan is one of the more popular mountains in Seoul so my day off was perfect for avoiding possible crowds. It was an energizing escape from the city and I felt as though I was back in Southeastern Ohio; fresh, brisk air in my lungs, vibrant colors and earthy smells. I even had the sound of nature mixed with helicopters (though this time not searching for Meigs Gold) in the background. It was the perfect cure for my homesickness! My previous hiking experiences have now been redeemed.
